Conditions we treat

A coronary artery disease occurs when the blood vessels that carry blood to the heart become diseased or damaged either due to the formation of plaque or when the vessels become inflamed. Some of the symptoms may include chest pain, shortness of breath and a heart attack.

Angina is a kind of chest pain that occurs when there is reduced blood flow to the heart. If left untreated, it could cause life-threatening complications. Some of the symptoms may include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath and sweating.

Heart failure or otherwise known as congestive heart failure is a condition when the heart doesn’t pump blood as it should leading to blood flowing back and building up fluid in the lungs causing shortness of breath. Other symptoms may include fatigue, weakness, swelling in the legs, ankles and feet, rapid or irregular heartbeat, nausea, lack of appetite and chest pain.

A heart arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat that occurs when the electrical signals that coordinate the heart’s beat don’t function properly causing the heart to beat either too fast or too slow or irregularly. Other symptoms may include chest pain, shortness of breath, anxiety, fatigue and lightheadedness.

This is a common condition that is characterised by the long term force of blood against the walls of the arteries is high that it could lead to other health complications such as heart disease. Common symptoms may include headaches, shortness of breath or nosebleeds and these don’t occur until the blood pressure reaches a life-threatening stage.

Congenital heart conditions are pertaining to one or more problems with the structure of the heart that exist from birth which can change the way the blood flows through the heart or the way the heart functions in general. While some of these conditions may not cause any problems, others may be life-threatening. Some of the common symptoms may include abnormal heart rhythms, a bluish tint to the skin, lips and fingernails, shortness of breath, fatigue and swelling of body tissue or organs.

Inherited heart conditions that include congenital heart disease, high blood cholesterol, heart attack, heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathy are conditions that run in families. Genetic factors play a huge role in these conditions as the genes control every aspect of the cardiovascular system from the strength of the blood vessels to the way the heart communicates with various cells.

Rheumatic heart disease is a heart condition when one or more of the heart valves become diseased or damaged due to Rheumatic fever, an inflammatory disease that affects connective tissues in the body such as the heart, joints, skin or the brain. Symptoms for Rheumatic heart disease depends on the degree of the valve damage and may include shortness of breath, chest pain and swelling.

Cardiomyopathy is a disease that affects the muscle of the heart, hindering its ability to pump blood to the rest of the body and can lead to heart failure. Depending on the severity of the disease, medicinal treatments may be recommended or in some cases even surgery or a heart transplant. Symptoms may include breathlessness while in motion or stationary, swelling of the legs, ankles or feet, bloating of the abdomen, coughing while lying down, fatigue, rapid heartbeats, chest discomfort, dizziness and lightheadedness.

There's nothing blissful than hearing a child's laugh or watch them grow right before our eyes. It's another story when their health takes a different turn and our hearts ache while they lay incapacitated with a chronic disease or health condition.
