Our Pulmonology specialties

A condition that narrows the airways and swells prodding extra mucus and results in breathing difficulties.

Respiratory allergies occur when the immune system has a native reaction to certain substances or materials such as dust, pollen or hair of certain animals. These are common and can occur at any age. Symptoms of these allergies may include nasal congestion, itchy throat and nose, mucus, coughing and breathing difficulties.

One of the leading cause of cancer deaths in the world, lung cancer originates in the lungs mostly due to smoking and increases over time with each cigarette smoked. This causes a series of respiratory problems such as coughing sometimes with blood, shortness of breath, unintended weight loss, bone pain and headaches.

Sleep disorders are conditions that impair your sleep preventing you from getting restful sleep, causing daytime sleepiness and other symptoms that may hamper your daily routine. There are over 80 types of sleep disorders but the top ones include insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and narcolepsy.

Emphysema is a lung condition that causes shortness of breath due to the damage to the inner walls of the air sacs in the lungs which weaken or rupture over time.

Pneumonia is a condition that causes that air sacs in the lungs to be filled with fluid or pus, causing chronic coughs, fever, chills and breathing difficulties. This condition can range from mild to life-threatening and is serious among infants and young children and people who are over 65 and those with weak immune systems.

COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a chronic inflammatory lung disease that obstructs the airflow in the lungs, causing breathing difficulties, cough, mucus and wheezing.

Interstitial Lung Disease is part of a large group of disorders that can cause progressive scarring of the lungs, affecting your ability to breathe. This can be either due to long term exposure to hazardous materials or the presence of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, which can contribute to Interstitial Lung Disease but for the majority of the cases, the cause is unknown.

Chronic coughs can last about eight weeks or longer in adults and four in children that hampers with your sleep leaving you exhausted the following day. Severe cases of chronic cough can cause vomiting, lightheadedness and in some cases rib fractures.

Pulmonary Fibrosis is a lung disease due to the damage to the lung tissues and when they scar. The thickened, stiff tissue makes it difficult for the lungs to function properly resulting in shortness of breath over time.

Pulmonary Hypertension is a form of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in the lungs and the right side of the heart. One of the kinds of Pulmonary Hypertension is Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension where the blood vessels in the lungs constrict, get blocked or damaged, resulting in a rise in blood pressure.

Pulmonary Embolism is a condition that is characterised by blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in the lungs, most commonly caused by blood clots that travel to the lungs from deep veins present in the legs or veins from other parts of the body.

Pleural Mesothelioma is an aggressive form of life-threatening cancer that forms in the thin layer of the lung tissue, causing chest pains, painful coughing, shortness of breath and unintentional weight loss.
